India seeks 40-metre expansion

The Amateur Radio Society of India, on behalf of all of that nation's hams has made a formal application to India's Department of Telecommunications for the new 40 Meter band segment to be allocated to the amateur radio community.

Requests have also been made for permanent allocation of frequencies in the 6 meter and 30 meter bands.

These spectrum parcels were previously given to India's ham community on a short term basis, but later withdrawn.
