LF band access in Australia

After a wait of more than 20 years Australian radio amateurs now have a low frequency band, albeit with an Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) administrative price tag.

VK Advanced Licensees can have their licence conditions varied by ACMA to include 135.7 to 137.8 kHz, the now worldwide secondary allocation for the amateur service.

Who will be the first to pay and play? A draft LF band plan is to be released soon by the Wireless Institute of Australia for comment.
