Portuguese Regulations for the amateur services in English

ICP-ANACOM, the radio spectrum manager and regulator as well as the supervisor and representative for the telecommunications sector in Portugal, have recently made public translations in English of a significant number of documents regarding the amateur and amateur-satellite services, at the institutional website.

As new procedures are released, it is expectable that shortly other important documents will be also translated and become accessible as well.

For the moment you can find already the following releases:

Decree-Law nº 53/2009, of March the 2nd:
This Decree-Law rules the amateur and amateur-satellite service in Portugal, and defines the regime for granting certificates, application procedure for foreign amateurs and especial permits to amateurs and licenses to non-proprietary stations.

Without translation, but also currently available, there is also the ambitioned information about amateur radio and amateur-satellite service's license fee government due for the regular acts ( Decree-Law nº 53/2009, of March the 2nd, article 19, nº 1 and 4 ).

1 - Administrative regular expenses fees

153101 Amateur ability examination - 50,00 €

153102 NAC ( National Amateur Certificate ) release -
15,00 €

153103 NAC as well as CEPT or ITU license replacement ( duplicate ) - 15,00 €

153104 NAC, CEPT or ITU license revision - 15,00 €

153105 Non-proprietary station ( communal use station ) license release - 15,00 €

153106 Non-proprietary station ( communal use station ) license replacement ( duplicate ) - 15,00 €

153107 Non-proprietary station ( communal use station ) license revision - 15,00 €

153108 International Certificate replacement ( duplicate ) - 15,00 €

153109 Additional fixed station call sign (AFSCS) consignation - 15,00 € 153110 Occasional call signs ( OCS ) consignation - 15,00 €

153111 Annual occasional call signs (AOCS) consignation - 15,00 €

2 - Common operation fees

154101 Annual occasional call signs (AOCS) use fee -
120,00 €
154102 Annual radio spectrum use by NAC holders fee - 20,00 €

2 - The annual radio spectrum use for NAC holders fee shall be reduced by :
a) 50 % for below than 25 years of age;
b) 50 % for over than 65 years of age;

c) 70 % for disabled persons who suffer permanent disability at 60% or above, calculated pursuant to Decree-Law nº 352/2007 of October the 23rd, which must be duly evidenced, according to Decree-Law nº 53/2009, of March the 2nd, line c) nº 4 from article 19.
