Emergency Communications in BruneiThe May 10 issue of The Brunei Times newspaper reported on the vital role of Radio Amateurs in emergency communications. The newspaper says "Amateur radio operators in the country could provide assistance in times of disaster by providing communications support and situational updates." The national society is the Brunei Darussalam Amateur Radio Association (BDARA) and they have always worked closely with the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC). During the 2009 flood disaster Radio Amateurs were instrumental in helping the government.
