Radio amateur joins PARIS projectThe Paper Aircraft Released Into Space (PARIS) project has announced that Radio Amateur Steve Daniels G6UIM has joined the team. The plan is for the paper aircraft Vulture 1 to be released from a weather balloon that will carry it to over 30 km this summer. Steve G6UIM, who built his first Compukit UK101 computer in 1979, has been working on the main payload radio beacon and Vulture 1 GPS board. A Yaesu FT-817 will be used to receive the signal. Steve told Southgate News that he would love to get signal reports and even feeds of the APRS data. He said "We will be running APRS on 433.950 and a Morse beacon on 433.920MHz. I will reply to any email received. g6uim2@hotmail.com" Steve added: "We will be flying from Exeter between 2pm and 3pm on the 2nd. We hope to get at least 100km coverage from Exeter".
