Now tune into a scrappage scheme for your old radioThe UK's MailOnline reports that a scrappage scheme for radios to encourage a mass crossover to digital broadcasting will be unveiled today (Wednesday). The initiative, involving major electronic retailers such as Currys, will see customers offered a 20 per cent discount on a digital set if they hand in an analogue model. The aim is to persuade owners of around 100 million analogue radios still in use around Britain to buy the new sets. However, the article also says that industry authorities are expecting a potential backlash from loyal FM listeners, while the cost of disposing of millions of radios is also a potential problem.
