Maritime DX Forum and Webinar 2011
The Halifax Amateur Radio Club and the Maritime Contest Club wish to extend an invitation to all amateur radio operators around the world to attend the Eighth Annual Maritime DX Forum (MDF).

The event will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the Maritime Provinces of eastern Canada. We recognize that for most of you, it will not be possible for you to attend our meeting in person on 5 and 6 August 2011, but for the first time we are offering another option, namely a webinar or web seminar format. This will allow the members of your national organization to attend via the world wide web at 50% of the regular cost.

Over the last eight years we have built up an excellent annual program that has attracted as speakers many of the most important ham radio figures of our time as well as a very interesting and accomplished group of dedicated ham participants. Out keynote speaker this year is John Devoldere, ON4UN and last year it was Martti Laine, OH2BH.
The webinar presentation will happen in real time and allow participants to hear the proceedings and view both the activity at the venue and the power point presentations. This software system also allows a participant to ask questions and make comments which will be seen by the speaker. However, because many of you will live in time zones that make viewing in real time inconvenient, shortly after the event closes, the various segments will be downloaded to our website .
Thus, those who have registered – wherever they live - may access and view the program anytime over a 48 hour period. We hope in this way to share the MDF experience and the insights of our remarkable speakers with a world wide audience. Of course, we hope that one day you will join us in person and let us show you our Maritime Provinces hospitality!.
