MT63 data mode experiment

Radio amateurs who can receive in MT63 data mode using 1kHz bandwidth USB with long interleave are urged to try and receive a special GB2RS MT63 data news transmission that is going out at 13.30UTC on Sunday 20 November on 5,279kHz channel Foxtrot Bravo.

The transmission will last for about 25 minutes and will be followed by some repeat broadcasts from other newsreaders using this mode.

This broadcast is an experiment and is in addition to the regular Sunday evening transmissions on 3,600kHz at 20.15UTC and on 1,992kHz at 20.45UTC. Reception reports must be given using USB in either MT63 or voice on all three bands in order to keep the activity on one channel.

Voice calls from 5MHz NoV holders, including those taking part in a Raynet demonstration of the mode, should be put out on 5,278.5kHz in order to remain within the assigned 3kHz channel. Reception reports may also be e-mailed to the addresses given at the end of the data text.
