Ireland: CQ World Wide CW Contest

The CQ World Wide CW Contest, the biggest CW event of
the year, will take place this weekend. It runs for 48 hours from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.

Ten EI stations were listed in the results from last year and we look forward to an even bigger participation this year.

Wieslaw SP4Z will again travel from Poland to participate in the CQWW CW from Ireland in the Single Operator All Band Low Power category as EI/SP4Z.

He will use IC7000 + rotary Spiderbeam, Inverted VEE and a
dipole. SP4Z also operated from Maynooth two years ago and in the process set a new EI record for a Low Power, All Band entry. This record still stands.

This was a great achievement as he brought his complete station, including aerial supports, on the airplane from Poland.

On that occasion he made 1,785 QSOs in 91 Zones and 339 DXCC entities.
