BBC Radio Devon DRM trial

Jon Bentley takes a look at the Morphy Richards DRM Radio and uses it to listen to the Medium Wave DRM broadcasts from BBC Radio Devon on 855 kHz.

The Gadget Show Web TV programme on the Morphy Richards DRM Radio is now available on YouTube.

After listening to the DRM transmission by BBC Radio Devon the presenter was not impressed by DRM describing it as processed, distorted and worse than FM.

In some ways it's all down to what you're used to. If you usually listen to AM radio on the medium wave and shorwave bands then DRM sounds great in comparison but for those who only listen to FM or DAB, it may not meet expectations.

It's all gone quiet on 855!
