D-STAR repeater to go on test in Portugal's Algarve

- Radioamador Clube de Loulé, has announced on
the Portuguese ARLA/CLUSTER Internet mailing list last November 22, that
a new D-STAR repeater will go on test operating in the
Algarve, Portugal from December 9 to December 16.
This repeater operates only at the 70 cm Amateur Radio band, on a Digital
Repeater Communications sub-band IARU recommendations channels.

This Local Ham Radio Association have join efforts with NAUCOM (Icom's
delegate company for Portugal), and thanks to ICP-ANACOM - (the equivalent
to FCC in Portugal) conformity, the project have become achievable.
With such partnership it was possible to engage this new technology in
Portugal.
