Wythall
Radio club get Lottery grant to start Amateur Radio license training
Wythall Radio Club, south west of Birmingham, are pleased
to announce that they have been awarded National Lottery Awards for All
funds in excess of £5000 to help them provide training courses for
those members of the local and wider community who wish to gain an amateur
radio transmitting license.
They propose to extend the current range of training provided for the
Foundation level license to include, Intermediate and Advanced Full Amateur
Radio Licenses.
They will do this by running a series of tuition classes, workshops and
examinations, with a focus on young, retired, disabled and educationally
challenged people in the local community where the radio club is based
and the surrounding area.
The grant will enable them to purchase training and teaching aids, prepare
course material and provide training and teaching equipment. The grant
will enable them to also hire rooms for teaching and examinations within
the Wythall Community Association, Silver Street, which are accessible
for disabled people.
