IARU Region 1 Paper

One of the papers being considered at the IARU Region 1 conference in Cavtat suggests using spectrum defence funds to employ a fulltime professional EMC-bureau.

The paper CT08_C3_26, titled 'Work in Standardisation Bodies - Spectrum Defence Fund', was written by Mike Zwingl, OE3MZC and is being put forward by the Austrian Society OeVSV.

It says "Interference from wire line networks and other electrical appliances is currently the biggest threat to radio services. This is particularly a problem for amateur stations operated at home or mobile in urban or suburban areas. Nevertheless cumulative effects on the ionosphere will also cause harmful interference and increasing noise levels over wider areas of the world."
