Austrian Radio Amateurs get new frequencies and modes

The Austrian OeVSV website reports changes to the Amateur Radio regulations, one of which means Amateurs will get access to all frequencies above 275 GHz.

Among the changes announced are:

On 50 MHz deletion of all restrictions on aerial and mobile operation. 50-52 MHz now 100 Watts and all modes

Beginners (Class 3) licence holders can run 100 watts on 144 MHz

Adoption of a 'Technology Neutral' approach, permitting all types of transmission mode

Liberalisation of bandwidth restrictions which should benefit ATV and Digital modes.

All frequencies from 275GHZ to light are assigned to Amateur Radio (secondary until 31.12.2011)
