Chelmsford Radio Direction Finding talk

On Tuesday December 1st, Roy Emeny, G4JAC, of the Colchester Radio Orienteering Group will give a talk to the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) on Multi-Tx Radio Direction Finding.

Roy will explain his 30 year addiction to Radio Direction Finding (DF), describing the home built equipment in use.

DF'ing is orienteering using ordnance survey maps and a compass. Bearings are taken at an appointed start location and random transmissions are made usually during the next two and a half hours.

Roy has recently been involved in a new variant on the DF competitions involving a combination of manned and unmanned transmitters.

He is a great ambassador for Top Band DF and a good speaker with a very dry wit. It should be an excellent evening.

The talk takes place on Tuesday December 1 at the
Marconi Social Club (MASC), Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX.
The doors open at 7:10 pm and the meeting gets underway at 7:30 pm. Car parking is free and a bar is available for refreshments.
