Donation to the Society

The Irish Radio Transmitters Society reports that it has recently received a very generous donation from one of their members John EI6IJ.

The society says that for health reasons, John has been forced to cease driving and has presented the Society with his 08 Kia Rio hatchback automatic. The car has been converted for disabled use and professionally fitted out with a Fox Tango 857 rig.

The IRTS committee at it's recent meeting passed a sincere vote of thanks to John and a sub group has been appointed to manage the practicalities.

It is intended that the proceeds from the sale of the car would be ring-fenced in a fund that would be used to assist members who for reasons of changed circumstances such as ill health or change of accommodation are finding it difficult to practice and enjoy their hobby.

The fund would also support the promotion of Amateur
Radio in schools and other youth organisations. Once
again our sincere thanks to John EI6IJ for his gift to
the Society.
