Tonga operation

Paul, A35A, reports that Dave Lee, W6ZL/A35KL, arrived in Nuku'alofa on the Island of Tongatapu (OC-049) on the morning of November 11th.

He will be in Tonga for about 6 weeks, but he probably won't be on the air until he gets to Ha'apai (OC-169).

Paul states, "He had no trouble clearing customs with all the radio gear and a brand-new Honda generator.

"Dave will remain in Nuku'alofa until the 20th, and then will fly up to Ha'apai. Tomorrow, however, he will air-freight all the gear to Lifuka Island, and the overhaul of the A35A station will then commence!

"The 'to do' list includes lots of antenna work, installation of additional filters in the K3, and re-wiring the shack. We're still 'on' for the CQWW CW contest."
