Amateur Radio repeaters linked and FSTV beacon returns

The Martello Tower Group are pleased to announce that as from the 4th November 2010 the GB3CL and GB3CE 70cms amateur radio repeaters in Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester respectively have been linked together.

Stations calling through either repeater will also be relayed through the other repeater thus increasing local 70cms coverage considerably. This has been done using G8CUL logic and the linking is via radio, not via an Internet link.

Also, on 13th November, the 13cms FSTV beacon GB3CZ was returned to service on 2.432GHz from JO01OT. GB3CZ runs 5 watts ERP and all signal reports are appreciated.
