ZL8X Kermadec Island DXpedition

By the time you read this, the whole team should be in Auckland. They plan to depart from Tauranga harbor around Monday evening, November 15th. Weather permitting, they should be at Raoul Island on Thursday morning.

A couple announcements were made this past week.
There is a webcam on Raoul Island. It is a permanent installation of the GeoNet, a monitoring system in New Zealand to watch hazards like earthquakes, and volcanic activities or tsunamis.

The ZL8X Web site has installed a link where you can go directly to the GeoNet site. Also, Mario, DJ2MX, was again announced as their QSL Manager, as well as an Online QSL Request System (OQRS) which will be activated "AFTER" their radio operations.

They state, "If it is possible, please use our service to minimize the workload for us! If for any reason you are not able to use our OQRS you may also send your card normally by post (address via QRZ.COM) or via the Bureau."
