Essex amateur radio club supports RSGB fight against spectrum pollution

The secretary of the South Essex Amateur Radio Society (SEARS) has posted a comment on the RSGB manager's blog expressing their support in the fight against radio pollution from PLT and Plasma TV's.

Norman M0FZW has himself suffered horrendous interference from a Plasma TV (Ofcom Investigation Case 1-94901056) which renders the HF bands unusable yet astonishingly the UK communications regulator Ofcom are attempting to wriggle out of their responsibilities to take action against the manufacturer of the sub-standard polluting TV.

In the Wednesday, Nov 3, edition of the FT newspaper was an article on the phenomenon of Regulatory Capture where vested interests, using financial or job inducements, take over their regulator with the result that the regulator defends the interests of powerful industry groups instead of those of the consumer.
