WIA cuts a deal on membership discount card

Several years ago the Queensland Division of the WIA negotiated with an organisation named DEFCOM to provide a membership service which provides discounts at selected vendors by the use of a discount card.

DEFCOM is contracted to the Department of Defence to provide a discount card to defence personal, defence contactors and associated emergency service providers such as WICEN. The membership of DEFCOM is renewed annually and the board of the National WIA has negotiated for all National WIA members to enjoy the benefits of the scheme.

All members of the national WIA will receive a discount card and a booklet outlining vendors offering discounts to card holders.

During November WIA President, Michael Owen, VK3KI, will write to all members who have joined the national WIA since May or who have renewed their subscription falling due after 1 July or have signed a Consent to Membership, outlining how the card works and with this letter will be a booklet containing a list of vendors and the card.

If you wish to find information now on the card and where it can be used, take a look at http://www.defcom.com.au/defcomhome.htm
