Amateur Radio in Iraq

Ian G3ZHI has passed on a letter from Baghdad and YI1DZ.

It seems that since 1978, YI-1-BGD the club station in Baghdad has operated from the Baghdad Planetarium, the year 2000 it became 2 clubs YI-1-BGD and YI-1-RS.

Nowadays, every one is working from home with his own towers and rigs. The club was looted during the second Gulf War.

YI1DZ says he is responsible for ham radio in Iraq and is in
constant communication with the authorities including the NCMC to issue the license to all Iraqis.
