Minister appoints new Director General

The South African Minister of Communication has appointed Lyndall Shope-Mafoli as the new Director General of the Department of Communications.

Some years back, Ms Shope Mafole was Chairman of the ITU Council and became well acquainted with amateur radio through her interaction with the President of the IARU, Larry Price and IARU secretary, David Sumner.

As Chairman of the ITU she also did an interview on Amateur Radio Mirror International and expressed her support for the Amateur Radio Service.
