Cop-chief threatened over police radio

A Malayasian state police chief has been threatened over his own police radio frequency. Soon after, when police detained two men in connection with the incident, they discovered an old police walkie-talkie.

Police obtained a two-week remand order for the two and are investigating the case under the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. As well as the intimidation threats, the suspects could also be charged under the Multimedia and Communications Act 1998.

The New Straits Times reported an unidentified man had tapped into the police radio frequency threatening to plant explosives at the home of state police chief.
