Hayden's Helpers

Readers of Amateur Radio magazine (available at all good news agents right now) will have noticed the article written by new amateur, 13 year old Haydon, VK7HAY.

He made the point that passing the exam was the easy part; his greatest worry has been putting connectors onto cables and troubleshooting aerial problems.

Hayden lives in the Huon Valley where there are no Amateurs living close by to call for assistance.

Gary VK7JGD, who sometimes works in the area, offered to help with some basic instruction and a loan antenna.
Following this Haydon attended some of the "hands on" shed activities at Ken VK7DY's shack. He has also been loaned a 2 meter rig.

Whilst on this subject, Hayden, VK7HAY, would like to wish Ken, VK7DY and his band of merry helpers a great big thank you for the 2m YAGI that appeared the other day.
