Fire destroys electronics stocksJust to let you know, following the thread here some weeks back about the frequency synthesisers bought as surplus from Mainline Electronics, who also own the historic Jackson Brothers (founded 1923!) range of variable capacitors: This morning I learned from a conversation with Mainline that they had a major fire in their warehouse a week and a half ago which has completely destroyed their entire stock, and their office. They are currently operating out of someone's house using a redirected telephone on their usual number 0116 286 5373. They do not currently have any email or computing facilities so if you have emailed them recently or placed an order, you will not have received a response. They have new computers on order which they expect to receive next week sometime. Fortunately the Jackson Brothers variable capacitors factory is located
at a different part of the country in Croydon so was not destroyed. Mainline
do not know yet if they will be able to continue their surplus sales but
they told me this morning that they have every intention of continuing
the I suspect that the remaining stocks of those frequency synthesisers are now in a pile of ashes somewhere in the Leicester region. I have no connection with Mainline other than that I built their original Jackson Brothers online catalogue but I thought I'd pass this on in case it was of interest to someone. 72/3 Hans G0UPL |
