JOTA in EchoLink location
Scouters,
Last night I was tuning up the WB9SA Echolink stations, we will have
WB9SA, K9BKW and KC9EVS all up and running from our Club...
We Put JOTA in the EchoLink location field with our web site "JOTA
www.troop272.com" to make it easy to search for us and all the JOTA
ops.
In EchoLink to change the location field, Go to Tools then Setup, make
the change in the Location field, then OK, next click on File, then Profile,
then New, call it Jota1 or what ever, OK... Now you will have JOTA xxxxxx
(your web site, group name etc.) show up. We can then all use the find
tool to search on the word "JOTA" and find everyone very fast,
for more fun!!!
Remember you need to have a fix IP address for each station you run,
or learn how to setup the EchoLink Proxy... read about that on the EchoLink
web site.
The other night, the Chilean and Brazilian Scouters were tuning up too...
check out CE3JAM a Scout camp station and CE3BSC (Boy Scouts of Chile)
national headquarters station and PY3YD all running EchoLink and HF/VHF
stations...
Is anyone up for Video Conferencing? Using Net Meeting? We have two Dutch
Scouts looking forward to playing www.runescape.com with Scouts in my
Troop real time... Any other Ideas? Flight Simulator?
We are looking forward to our HB9S call this year... and have big plans
to try our first AO-51(Echo) Satellite contact, it goes by three times
during our ops. see www.AMSAT.org and www.heavens-above.com AMSAT is hoping
the Scouts use the AO-51...
73, see you on the air 10am EST, 3pm UTC Saturday till 10pm EST, 3AM
UTC
(Sunday morning)...
