ISS on the air for JOTA

The International Space Station has been active for JOTA weekend, with several stations having reported working new ISS Commander Bill McArthur KC5ACR.

Here are just a few..

Hello All....

I had a Nice QSO with Bill on the last pass west of California this morning. He was also calling CQ for JOTA, and worked one other station. He had NO TAKERS after BSing with me a second time on this pass.
He then gave up and turned packet back on.
Too bad nobody was "listening".
Told him to get on the air more often. He said he plans on it!!

Didn't get this QSO on tape, as was not ready to hear voices....
Called my wife into the shack to hear our QSO.

Bill McArthur was active for two passes over US today.
I made brief contact during one degree elevation pass as he passed over New Orleans area. I thanked him for calling and asked him to do it more often and he said he would.

First pass heard, he was calling jamborees so I kept quiet.
Second pass, I kept it brief.

I just spoke to Exp 12 Cmdr William McArthur operating NA1SS for JOTA at 9:11 am edt 13:11 utc!
He was operating 145.80/144.49 MHz

I told him I was operating KD4 "Scouting For Fun" at Paris Mtn State Park here in Greenville, SC and waiting for the scouts to show up. After clarifing my callsign and signal report, I asked him to say hi to all the scouts here in Greenville.

Bill replied:
Al - Scouting For Fun this is NAISS - Greeting to all the scouts world wide. it's a thrill for us today to be participating in JOTA!

I then thanked him for operating JOTA and wished him 73!!!
