London 26 MHz DRM tests

'Communication' - the magazine of the British DX Club, reports that the London 26 MHz DRM tests could begin in November.

Transmissions are expected to be from Croydon or Crystal Palace using up to 1kw to a vertical yagi. It has been reported that the Crystal Palace antenna was installed this week.

Test and development licences have been issued to Arqiva (ex NTL), VT Communications (ex Merlin) and Crown Castle, now renamed as National Grid Wireless.

Transmissions will be on frequencies between 25700 and 26080 kHz.

Test and Development licences are intended to be used for technical tests although some programming is likely to be carried as part of the tests, such as WRN.
