Ham Fellowship introduce new award

The Ham Fellowship, G1THF, has launched a new award – called the Wigan Award - for radio amateurs who make contact with radio stations in the metropolitan borough of Wigan .

Foreign hams qualify for the award if they make five contacts.

Residents of the UK who do not live in Wigan need to make 15 contacts and stations based in Wigan must make 25 contacts with fellow Wigan stations to be considered for the award.

All contacts must be via radio and not internet modes. Only contacts made on or after 1 October 2005 count towards this award.

In addition, stations that achieve the requisite number of contacts and also work the Ham Fellowship club station using G1THF or GX1THF will receive a gold endorsement version of the award.
