DXCC honour for ZS4TX

Bernie van der Walt ZS4TX has received confirmation from the ARRL that he has reached the Top of the DXCC Honour Roll.

This honour is bestowed on amateurs who can prove that they have contacted all existing DXCC entities.

There are 335 of these entities, which in most cases are independent countries. There are some entities that are not independent countries, but are regarded as separate because of geographical isolation. An example is Marion Island, which is a sought-after separate entity even though it is South African territory.

Only two South Africans have previously received this honour. The late "Van" van der Watt, ZS6LW, reached this milestone in the 1980s and Chris Burger, ZS6EZ, is still listed.

Half a dozen other South Africans are on the DXCC Honour Roll, needing less than ten entities confirmed.
