Armad
dates winter 2006
CQ, CQ, CQ all Radio Amateurs!
ARMAD announces new events for November and December 2006.
The purpose of ARMAD (Amateur Radio Military Appreciation
Day) events are to get Amateur Radio Operators on the air to demonstrate
our hobby, and provide a publice service to our communities; and the Military.
ARMAD is a non-political series of events that seek to show appreciation
and thanks to those serving in harms way.
We encourage Amateur Radio Operator's, and Clubs to get on the air and
show support to the members of the Military, their families, 1st Responders,
and Support Groups.
You may have your own Special Event, or join in with other ARMAD Groups
on the air. Pick a frequency and go on the air calling CQ - Your Call
and ARMAD. There is an ARMAD Conference server on Echolink, and we also
use an IRLP Reflector for the purpose of linking locations.
We also encourage you to spread the word about ARMAD events to other
Amateur's, Clubs, Military Special Event stations, and Military Amateur
Radio Operators so that they can be on the air to hear the people from
communities, and Amateur Radio Operators thank them for their service.
Several Military Bases, Ships, and other related Military sources have
Amateur Radio stations. Our purpose is to get them to hear the support
that America and the World has to show them over the air. They may also
respond back to those that are showing appreciation if they desire. We
also provide a means of communication for those wishing to contact someone
serving in the Military.
ARMAD includes all Military members, including Coalition Forces, Veterans,
Retired Military, 1st Responders, and Emergency people; as well as the
many Groups that support them.
Let's get on the air to "Ham It Up For The Troops."
Visit http://www.armad.net
for more information. Events are listed on the" EVENTS" link
at the top of the page.
Let's continue to grow our hobby as we show support for our friends,
neighbors, and loved ones.
