RadCom 'Newcomers News' column draws to a close

Steve Hartely G0FUW editor of the 'Newcomers Column' in RadCom has said that the December issue will be the last.

Steve has been editing the Newcomers Column in RadCom for the last 7 years. He also runs very successful Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced amateur radio courses in Bath. A video of the Intermediate Course has been available on DVD.

As well as running courses, he is also author of the very popular "Intermediate Licence Book" and joint author of "Advance - The Full Licence Book" which can be purchased from the RSGB Bookshop at http://www.rsgbshop.org/

It is expected Steve will be kept busy with changes to both the Intermediate and Advanced manuals following the new Amateur Radio licence recently announced by Ofcom.

What is sometimes not appreciated is that the Amateur Radio courses and exams are almost totally dependant on volunteers who freely give up considerable amounts of their spare time for the benefit of others. Steve is an outstanding
example of this volunteer spirit.

Steve requests that he is not sent any more reports for Newcomers News. If you wish to report successes or pass on any good tips they should now be sent to
