Pictures direct from space to Market Harborough

Radio Amateur Andy Thomas G0SFJ made good use of Richard Garriott W5KWQ's recent International Space Station mission to get some publicity for Amateur Radio in his local newspaper.

In an email on the AMSAT Bulletin Board (AMSAT-BB) Andy said that "It's difficult to explain the mission to local journalists, and some of it as printed is just plain wrong".

It certainly can be difficult at times to get across some of the specialist aspects of Amateur Radio to journalists who understandably do not have any in-depth technical knowledge, but it's all credit to Andy that he gave it a go and the end result was some very worthwhile publicity for Amateur Radio.
