Arrrgghh, is it are not raining at Maatsuyker Island?

Australia's most southerly lighthouse is home for six months to Tad VK2LNX and his XYL Suzanne VK2FSNJ.

They have become the latest volunteer caretakers for this lonely output that has rain on 250 days of the year.

Maatsuyker Island is 10 kilometres off the southern Tasmanian coast. It bears the full brunt of the roaring forties across the Southern Ocean that results in gale force winds, and occasional fierce storms with golf ball sized hail
stones.

Their duties include taking regular weather reports and maintaining the heritage values of the lighthouse and its surrounds.

Tad VK2LNX has an Elecraft K3 transceiver and G5RV antenna. Do listen for Tad and Suzanne on the bands.
