National Hamfest opens for business

The first day of the two-day National Hamfest saw the crowds pouring into the grounds.

The buzz in the main hall was good as visitors were searching out the bargains to be had. The first few hours were very busy with a steady stream of visitors through the gates.

Most headed for the main building first where most of traders could be found as well as the special interest groups and the Bring & Buy.

The Luso tower, in the middle of the hall, had a crowd around it admiring the engineering and dreaming about ‘what if’!  All the traders where busy from the moment the doors opened and the visitors were looking around the outside traders too – despite the weather, which was rather overcast with the odd light rain shower.

GB4FUN had its fair share of visitors and many amateurs were keen to see inside the mobile communications classroom.

It’s not too late to plan a visit as the show is open again on Saturday 3rd October at the Newark & Notts Showground. The organisers, the RSGB and the Lincoln Short Wave Club, look forward to welcoming you tomorrow
