Servamus emcom exercise a success!

ZS9WRR reports that the exercise in emergency communication held over the past weekend, 2/10/2009 till 4/10/2009, was a huge success.

SOS signals was released on 2/10/2009 at 2300 SAST (South African Standard Time) and were picked up in Cape Town via HF radio and PKS (PCS) by ZS1AGH, member WRR:00037, who established an Emergency Operational centre at Cape Town International Airport, after stringing a inverted V antenna linked to his Mobile Equipment, and became part of the emergency services at the airport.

The scenario for this exercise was a H1N1 Flu pandemic which was out of control.
