Space satellites made in Stevenage

The UK broadcaster the BBC have produced a video report on the recent launch of a Britsh satellite.

Building a satellite requires a highly-skilled workforce, otherwise it might explode. Thankfully, Stevenage in Hertfordshire, has just such a workforce.

BBC Working Lunch reporter Rachel Burden went there to watch the launch of a rocket carrying British-built kit, live on screen from the ESA launch facility in Kourou.

Stevenage has a successful amateur radio society, the Stevenage and District ARS (SADARS), who in recent years have done a considerable amount on the training front.

The 2008 Home Counties QRP Circle HogCon meeting took place in Stevenage.
