Al Katz K2UYH makes DXCC on 70cms

Al Katz K2UYH has made DXCC on 70cms - the 3rd in the world to do so!

I operated the EME contest with the K1JT’s team – see our ARRL contest report under Joe’s call.

The highlight this month was of course completing 432 DXCC after more than 30 years of trying.

DXCC was made possible by QSOs on 5 Oct at 1228 CE0/DK2ZF (21DB/O) on JT65B for mixed initial #804* and DXCC 99*, and on 18 Oct at 0000 TI2AEB (26DB/O) JT65B #805* and DXCC 100*.

I had a partial with Armando on 4 Oct at 1300 TI2AEB (25DB/-) JT65B and worked at 1358 PY4AJ ((O/O) JT65B for #804*.

During the following two weeks Armando doubled his array making QSOs with him relatively easy. I worked a second time on 19 Oct when his signals peaked to (22DB).

I do know of at least one more hot on the heels of Al who is also close to DXCC on the band!
