PLT Interference to the Fire Service BandNige, G7CNF has produced a video showing the effects of a Hi-speed Power Line Adaptor (PLA) on frequencies used by the Fire Service. Watch - PLT Interference to the Fire Service Band Following the discovery of the interference to the 4m amateur band by the Solwise NET-PL-1000M-TWIN PLT adapters, I checked on the band used by the UK Fire Service. The result is in this video. Unlike the other emergency services, the Fire Service still use analogue radio on 71 MHz and I have friends in Portugal who listen to this band for signs of Sporadic E radiowave propagation. When they hear UK firemen, they know that the 4m amateur band is open. This is just another example of powerline networking manufacturers having no respect for the radio spectrum or the EMC protocol in place to protect everyone.
