Radio and Electronics School NewsWe have a need for more tutors and examiners, particularly We currently have 16 full time facilitators but if you look at the numbers I mentioned earlier (click here to see earlier news item) you can see that they could use some assistance. The quality we need the most in a facilitator is communications skills - someone who can always give positive encouragement to students. Our facilitators do an excellent job - irrespective of their background
- many are just radio amateurs and some have academic qualifications,
though this is not required. Depending on how many students you take on, your commitment can be as little as 1 hour per week. It doesn't just stop there either. Each student will need to contest an exam. There is nothing more frustrating that being all revved up and no place to go, or worse having to wait 2 months till an exam is available. If you are a radio amateur in a remote location, Mt Isa, Broome or even Roxby Downs contact the WIA and become a registered invigilator. You might only get one exam in a year but you might save the candidate a 1000km round trip or worse not ever doing the exam at all. If you would like more information on our courses or becoming a volunteer facilitator, please feel free to contact me or visit the school web site at http://www.radioelectronicschool.com Adam VK4KSS, Course Manager of the Radio and Electronics
