SSTV Relay

Andy, G6OHM, is running an attended SSTV relay on two metres from his home in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire – Locator JO02AL.

Operation is currently at weekends only, Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday from mid-morning until approximately 10pm. However, if propagation conditions are favourable, he will keep it switched on until later. If he has to go out, the relay will be closed down. The frequency of operation is 144.5875MHz FM, the software MMSSTV version 1.10, and the radio is limited to 10 watts output.

The relay will identify itself every 10 minutes, with a test card showing callsign and Locator, and CW identification after the test card. To access the relay, send a 1750Hz tone for three seconds, wait for the ‘K' from the relay, and transmit your picture.

It is early days yet but, if he should get a good response, Andy will consider changing the radio for one of 25 watts output, and will also improve the antenna.

Please send any reports to m3tvt@qsl.net, m3.gxq@virgin.net, or by packet to g6ohm@gb7hol.
