International Space Station Voice Contact

Here is some information about the South Essex Amateur Radio Society's (Canvey Club) forthcoming contact with the International Space Station within the next six months, with the next crew (Expedition 12) who are due to replace the current crew in October.

We will be operating from Furtherwick Park School, Canvey Island in Essex and on the day, will be setting up a H.F. station and two vhf stations, one as a back up, and one as the main station,

The Radio Society of Great Britain and Amsat will be there as backup with their fun bus GB4FUN, which will be in attendance during the day.

The call sign for the event will be GB2FPS, The students have been working hard on the questions that they will be asking the crew.

We have been waiting 18 months for this opportunity so there's much excitement in the school and also in the club, its not every day you get the chance to have a QSO in to space.

We also have a club web site were you can obtain information on future events/Diary and pictures of what the club has been up to over the last year www.southessex.ars.btinternet.co.uk

E-mail southessex.ars@btinternet .com
