GB2RS in MT63 Data Mode

Listeners to GB2RS are reminded that it now goes out in a data format as well as voice.

The format used is the popular MT63 1kHz bandwidth long interleave mode and is delivered at 100 words per minute.

The transmission schedule is as follows. At 8.15pm listen on 3592kHz, 7092kHz and 14109.5kHz, and at 8.45pm listen on 1992kHz, 5259kHz and 5279kHz.

Four stations are making these GB2RS transmissions - GX0BAA, G3LEQ, GW0VMZ and G4HPE - and their individual identification can be heard in Morse code on the lower edge of the data signal.

GB2RS news manager Gordon Adams, G3LEQ, is keen for listeners to report on the reception of these transmissions.

Reception reports can be sent using MT63 or in Voice using USB. USB Voice is employed on 80m and 160m in order to keep the signal output in much the same place, frequency-wise, as the preceding data signal. However on the 5MHz channels, voice calls should be dialled 500Hz lower to the channel edge in accordance with normal practice.

Reports can also be sent to the e-mail addresses given at the end of each text transmission.
