• 1909 Aust Gov Local Aircraft Competition, no entries, withdrawn 1910.

• 1914 Aust Troops occupy German Colony of New Britain, WW1.

• 1933 Car Windscreen Wipers first made compulsory in Australia.

• 1936 Last known Tasmanian Tiger dies in Hobart Zoo, Tasmania.
