Letter to America - UK Amateur Broadcasts in the USRadio Society of Great Britain member Steve Nichols G0KYA, is broadcasting a monthly programme about HF propagation on US-based 'This Week in Amateur Radio'. This Week in Amateur Radio is a professionally-produced broadcast distributed via satellite in the US and on shortwave station WBCQ. It is also aired on repeaters in North America and is available as a downloadable MP3 Podcast. Steve, a member of the RSGB's Propagation Studies Committee, says that his broadcast forecasts HF conditions for the month ahead, providing details of paths likely to be available on each band. He also talks about aspects of propagation such as grey line, sporadic-E and low-band conditions. "I will also look at HF events taking place each month, including contests, special events or DXpeditions," Steve said. Steve - a professional journalist and broadcaster - also contributes other material to This Week in Amateur Radio. He recently presented a five-minute show about Marconi's attempts to span the Atlantic in 1901. The programme featured an interview recorded at the Poldhu ARC in Cornwall, home of the Marconi Centre Source: GB2RS News - Courtesy of the RSGB
