Drive for new Hamnet members in Limpopo Province

Francois, ZS6BUU, informed SARL News that 'We are looking at boosting our member listing in the Limpopo Province'.

It is also quite possible that you may still be in possession of an old Hamnet ID card, but with the restructuring of the Database, which took place about 2 years ago, your name may no longer appear in the new Database.

Peter Linington, ZS6RX who resides in Leeupoort, is currently the Provincial Director for Limpopo. I recently called on Peter and asked him for a commitment to continue with his responsibilities. He agreed to do so.

However, we need to revive Hamnet activities in the Limpopo Province and it will be appreciated that, if you have an interest in Hamnet or its activities, please contact Peter or myself without delay.

Any documentation for either Applying or completing the Questionnaire, are available from the SARL Website and should be sent to me for the purpose of updating our Database.

This has become necessary due to the introduction of the training modules which takes affect from 2006. All current Hamnet members and all newcomers will have to avail themselves of the training modules as our part of becoming more efficient as an emergency communications unit.

Various Government Departments are beginning to rely more and more on Hamnet to provide emergency communication at a moment's notice, should the situation arise. We just have to become more prepared to assist when normal communication fails or is overloaded.
