Report of the RAC Election Committee – September, 2006

On, Thursday, September 7th, 2006, an Election Committee was convened in Orillia, Ontario. Susan Cooke, VE3SUH, the RAC Corporate Secretary, established and chaired the meeting.

The Committee opened and reviewed the nominations received for the positions of Director, Atlantic, Ontario North/East, Midwest and British Columbia/Yukon Regions.

The Election Committee membership was as follows:
Mrs. Susan Cooke, VE3SUH
Mr. Rick Francis, VE3OXX
Mr. Ray Williamson, VA3RPW
Mr. Jim Robinson, VE3JPR

The Committee made the following decisions:

Atlantic Region Director:

One nomination was received for this position. Following a review of the documentation submitted and taking into account the constitutional and election process requirements, the Committee determined that the nomination was complete and in order. There being no other nominees, the Committee declared Mr. Len Morgan, VE9MY, elected as the RAC Director for Atlantic Region for the 2007-2008 term.

Ontario North/East Region Director:

Two nominations were received for this position. Following a review of the documentation submitted and taking into account the constitutional and election process requirements the Committee determined that the nomination papers were complete and in order for Mr. Dave Goodwin, VE3AAQ, and Mr. Bill Unger, VE3XT. The Committee recommended a Ballot by Mail pursuant to Article 6 (Method of Election) in the Constitution, for Director, Ontario North/East Region for the 2007-2008 term.

Midwest Director:

One nomination was received for this position. Following a review of the documentation submitted and taking into account the constitutional and election process requirements, the Committee determined that the nomination was complete and in order. There being no other nominees, the Committee declared Mr. Bjarne (Bj) Madsen, VE5FX, elected as the RAC Director for Midwest Region for the 2007-2008 term.

British Columbia/Yukon Director:

One nomination was received for this position. Following a review of the documentation submitted and taking into account the constitutional and election process requirements, the Committee determined that the nomination was complete and in order. There being no other nominees, the Committee declared Mr. Ed Frazer, VE7EF, elected as the RAC Director for British Columbia/Yukon Region for the 2007-2008 term
