Urgent!  We need your help!

To all Radio Amateurs

The Government Disaster Planning Group known as 'The Belfast Resilience Forum' has asked Raynet to establish an independent communications network to cover the greater Belfast area in case of failure of mainstream emergency and utility communication systems.

Raynet Northern Ireland and Raynet Ireland will be holding an exercise live on air on 2m and 70cm bands on Saturday 23rd September 2006 at 7pm

The aim of this task is to determine the area coverage possible using the current equipment available to our groups which will be set up at short notice.

We need to make as many contacts as possible from around the province and even further if possible.

Therefore we would like to ask for your help. This includes ALL members of the Amateur Radio Community not just Raynet

Please call “Raynet Control” briefly and give us your callsign and location. This simple but brief communication is all we need to obtain the data for our report.

The frequencies you will need are :

Simplex on 144.625 Mhz

Or through our repeater :
Output on 438.400Mhz
Input on 430.800Mhz

Please take a note of the Date, Time and Frequencies and hope to hear from you all on the night.

Many Thanks in Anticipation

Paul Connolly MI0BOK
Emergency Liaison Officer
