Don’t
miss the HF Convention
The RSGB’s 2006 HF Convention –
the flagship event for DXers and IOTA enthusiasts - is taking place at
the Gatwick Worth hotel just off the M23 over the weekend of 6 to 8 October.
You can find out more about the event, including the programme and how
to book tickets and packages, on the web at www.rsgb-hfc.org.uk.
Sponsored by Icom and Martin Lynch & Sons,
the HF Convention is open to amateurs and non-amateurs alike and is not
restricted to RSGB members. Day and weekend tickets are available on the
day – simply turn up at the venue. You can also book in advance
on the web at www.rsgbevents.org
or by calling the RSGB Events Office on 0870 904 7379.
The RSGB is offering amateurs the opportunity to take their Foundation,
Intermediate and Advanced examinations at the HF Convention. Candidates
can attempt more than one of the examinations at the convention. However,
it is essential they book an exam place prior to the event.
The contact for further information and for booking exams is Susan Lloyd.
She can be contacted at e-mail address susan.lloyd@rsgb.org.uk,
or via the RSGB HQ switchboard on 0870 904 7373.
Candidates for the Foundation and Intermediate exams must also contact
Brian Reay, G8OSN, so that their progress on the practical assessments
can be verified. His e-mail address is ardc.chairman@rsgb.org.uk.
If necessary, Brian can advise amateurs on finding a local tutor to guide
them through practical assessments before the HF Convention. He is also
the one to speak to if you want to do your practical assessments at the
convention.
